This hotel is comfy and special with accommodating employees with great service and plenty of staff. The location is fab and best possible, 5 minutes' walk to Makers. The main bar makes the welcome drinks.

The room is well priced. The breakfast is hot and generous with lots of food. The location of the hotel in Taunton is magnificent, so close to a beautiful park for a morning stroll and including a garden set up for refreshements/ dining and center of town. Very very helpful and exceptionally attentive personnel is with great service and plenty of staff.

Really lovely large room with good sized bathroom
The breakfast. It was extreemly expensive and too few staff in dining room/Kitchen to cope with the volume of guests. We waited 20-30 minutes for the tureens in the hot buffet to be filled with food and tyhen it disappeared in seconds as all the other guests in the breakfast room were experiencing the same problems.

Nice warm welcome, very pleasant over the 'phone too. (The guy said 'Fantastic!' about the prospect of our arrival.) Lovely room and bathroom, with plenty of space. There were blinds behind the curtains to ensure the room was dark.
We were disappointed that the room didn't have air conditioning. It was a warm night and our hotness disturbed our sleep.

Amazing service from lovely helpful staff. Fabulous room, eventhough it was a single it was a reasonable size & had a large bathroom.
The only problem was being able to hear the TV in the next room & people in the corridor - probably cos both were loud when people were drunk later in the evening!

I had stayed at the Castle in 1987 on my honeymoon , I live in Dallas Texas, my wife loved the Hotel then, my mother is English, and I was married in Hatch Beauchamp. Since then the Hotel seems to have retained it's charm and class. I have written a book about my mother an evacuee during the war who was evacuated to Hatch and spent the war at Hatch Court. She often talked about how wonderful the dances were at the Castle during the war. My late father, an American soldier loved the Hotel. I included a few stories about the Hotel in the book. It has remained a fond memory for my family over 70 years. Well Done.
Nothing, everything was excellant. The only comment I would have was I ordered a Grand Mariner to my room and got a straight brandy instead- a minor inconvienence at best.

Very much enjoyed my stay at the Castle, and would certainly recommend. Welcoming and comfortable; a traditional family-run hotel of the highest quality. Bedroom was spacious and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent. Location central and convenient parking just outside the front door.
My only disappointment was the restaurant, Brazz - perhaps because I'd read so many positive reports. On-line booking was easy and efficient, and the atmosphere, layout and welcome were contemporary and relaxing. The menu looked fairly imaginative. However my seafood chowder starter, though fine, came minus a spoon, and when one finally arrived it was more chilled than I was then feeling. The main course venison faggots were tasty, but were swimming in half an inch of watery gravy (more water than gravy!) which appeared careless. Hopefully this was just an off-night, because overall the Castle Hotel scores highly.

Friendly staff. Lovely building. Hotel was very happy with my extremely late check in time. Nothing seemed to be a problem to them.
I stayed on a Saturday night, and the noise from drunken Night Clubbers outside my window went on until around 5am! - Not the fault of the hotel but also not condusive to sleeping.

Very pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful and informative staff. Has a pleasant old-time quality, but facilities are modern and clean. Main staircase a very impressive feature. Dinner in the brasserie was superb, and matched the standard of the Rick Stein places in Cornwall where we had dine for the previous two nights. Buffet breakfast very good too.

The location is ideal for visiting Taunton and surrounding areas. The attached restaurant has excellent food and the staff are very good indeed. Possibly one of the best breakfasts I have had in an hotel for a long time.
It was difficult to get served in the small bar. One member of staff and he kept disappearing.

The beautiful suite was spacious and really comfy! The bed was huge, and the pillows were just right-made for a great night's sleep. I loved the decor, giving that nice castle vibe, and the room was super clean. The bathroom felt luxurious with all the goodies they provided. Not much to complain about at all!
